This is my Mum, Molly. This photo was taken around 40 yrs ago and things have changed for her in a big way. She’s survived breast cancer 3 times, stayed strong after my Dad suddenly passed away during her first bout of breast cancer and being a single mum to my brother and I. Throughout all those hardships, she’s been resilient, determined and still finds a way to laugh at life. She’s one top person in my eyes. Proud to be her daughter🫶🏽🌺💕

What makes my mom beautiful & unique is the amount of love she carries. She carries so much love that she named me after it, Charity, which means love and kindness. It's always been just her and I, and I know she was intentionally assigned to me so I could give her all the love she poured into me right back. I'm 3 in that picture, and as of 4/30/22, I turned 30. I've been living in Paris for the past 8 years, but distance never kept us distant. We're still attached at the hip, just like the pic.

In the last few months, the flood situation has worsened in the haor area of Kishoreganj due to unseasonal rains and hill slopes coming down from the upper reaches. The water level of all the rivers in the haor area is still rising. As a result, several villages have been submerged. People in these areas, which have been under water for six months of the year, have lost their only crop in the floods and are now in dire straits, making life very difficult. The pictures were taken from Ashtagram Haor area of Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh on 22 September 2021.

Tasnim 11, Mehedi 06 and their grandfather Shukur Mia Family members with an unusual pigmentation show off their shockingly bright, blue eyes. Eyes of this colour are rare for people of a darker skin tone, and the cause is a lack of melanin pigment in the iris of the eye. Lower levels of melanin are more commonly found in people with lighter skin tones, meaning they are more likely to have lighter coloured eyes. During the high water season, peoples use a boat to collect water lilies, a job that has been practiced for a long time in satla, Barisal bangladesh. They were taught boating from a young age. They pick the flowers, wash them, take them to the market or make family food. There are many tourists who come to Satla, Barisal to experience the feeling of boating along the rivers...and they can see these images.
